The much talked about and highly anticipated big ticket blockbuster release RRR hit screens on Friday.Directed by SS Rajamouli of Baahubali fame, the film features Ram Charan, Jr.NTR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn.Said to be on a similar scale to the epic Baahubali saga expectations about the business of RRR have been at an all-time high.In fact, in the run up to its release, RRR featured immense hype and promotions, with the cast members pulling out all stops while promoting the venture.Living up to expectations RRR opened to a thunderous response from the critics and audience alike, with evening and night shows on its first day showing a massive jump in footfalls.On its second day in theatres, RRR witnessed an increase of around 40% from its Day 1 bookings, which translated into good box office numbers.
Now on Day 3, advance estimates state that RRR has seen a further 26% growth from its Day 2 occupancy, ensuring the film enjoys a HUGE Sunday for the film.
As per predictions RRR (Hindi) is heading for a massive Sunday which could certainly propel the film into being one of if not the biggest single day collections for release within the Hindi belts during pandemic times.In fact, advance books have registered packed shows though the afternoon with evening and night shows showing an equally houseful trend across theatres.Thanks to this superlative trending, RRR could easily see its Sunday business hovering around the Rs.30 cr.vicinity, with chances that the business of the film could go even higher depending on audience word of mouth.
As for the weekend target of Rs.70 cr., with RRR pulling in Rs.20.07 cr.
and Rs.23.75 cr.respectively on its first and second day alone, for a total of Rs.43.82 cr., another Rs.30 cr.on Day 3 will easily help the film achieve this benchmark.Currently what is working in favour of the film is the wide release across multiple formats in 8000 screens coupled with the immensely positive word of mouth and critic reviews.
These factors combined along with the fact that the previous release The Kashmir Files showing signs of slowing down will ensure RRR a massive opening weekend..
