RPCS3 Emulator Now Boots Every PS3 Game

imageThere are 2,281 official games ) listed on Wikipedia for Sony’s PlayStation 3 console, and the latest version of the RPCS3 emulator can now boot every single one of them.RPCS3 was initially released in May 2011 and has gradually been improving its compatibility over the past decade. Each game is classified on a compatibility list as Nothing, Loadable, Intro, Ingame, and Playable. As Kotaku reports , the emulator has now reached a point where no known game is classed as “Nothing” anymore, so every title is at least Loadable, which means “games that display a black screen with a framerate on the window’s title.” [Tweet] It doesn’t look as though we’ll have to wait too much longer for the Loadable classification to be empty, too, as only 0.19% of PS3 titles are in that compatibility state.Of the rest, 5.75% make it to the menus (Intro), 30.53% are playable but can’t be finished/have serious glitches or performance issues (Ingame), and 63.53% can be completed with no game-breaking glitches or major performance problems (Playable).Recommended by Our Editors The emulator runs on Windows, Linux, and FreeBSD and requires at least 4GB of RAM (8GB recommended), an x86-64 CPU, and a GPU with support for OpenGL 4.3 or Vulkan.

If you own a PS3 title and want to play it using the emulator, you can first check how well it will play by finding it on the RPCS3 compatibility list .And if you’re wondering how good emulated PS3 games can look, just check out this Ni no Kuni gameplay video .Get Our Best Stories!
