MultiVersus, the Warner Bros.branded crossover platform fighter, has finally [been revealed](/news/179036/wbs-multiversus-officially-announced-features-batman-arya-stark-and-more) , showing off its co-op focus on the Smash Bros.formula.The game is also free-to-play for consoles and PC, with cross play as well.
With Warner Bros.owning a whole ton of incredible IPs, the roster of MultiVersus is a lot like the latest Space Jam movie, with the likes of Tom and Jerry, Arya from Game of Thrones, and Shaggy from Scooby Doo being able to fight the Justice League.
Besides the original inclusion of a character named [Reindog](/multiversus/179055/news/multiversus-fans-have-one-question-who-the-heck-is-reindog) , this roster looks to be a solid representation of some of Warner Bros’ most impactful franchises in the past decade.
So with the promise of even more characters to be added in the future, here are our top ten characters that we hope to see in MultiVersus someday.
With Mortal Kombat being one of the biggest games owned by Warner Bros, it’s only fair that we get one of the most iconic characters to be playable. While Sub-Zero and Scorpion are no-brainers, for our money, we’d prefer the fan-wielding Kitana as a more unique inclusion.
Her wind powers and agility would be greatly appreciated in a platform fighter.
One of the best superheroes from Cartoon Network, Ben Tennyson could transform into over ten different aliens, each equipped with different abilities. While this might be a little too overpowered, having Ben’s special attacks and finishers as specific and iconic aliens are good enough for the purposes of MultiVersus.
While Mad Max is definitely an iconic character in his own right, the fourth movie showed us the total badass that is Furiosa.
This rebellious war captain, originally played by Charlize Theron, has a robotic arm as well as proficient skill in firearms. There’s also a standalone film based on Furiosa in production, so that can give her some extra costumes in the game too.
Playable versions of Harry Potter and Voldemort may be in the cards someday, heck even Newt Scamander has a higher chance to be featured in MultiVersus.
Yet, we think that the current roster is devoid of any heavy tanks, so we think that Hagrid would be perfect for the job.Armed with his magic umbrella and able to summon Buckbeak, we simply can’t ask for more.
Rick and Morty
After a cameo in Space Jam: A New Legacy, Rick and Morty are definitely coming to this game sometime down the line.
If they can be skins in Fortnite, then Rick and Morty’s arsenal of wacky gadgets and interdimensional portals would be a fun to play combo. Now, whether they should be separate characters like Finn and Jake or a duo like Tom and Jerry boggles the mind.
The Hobbit himself, Bilbo Baggins is a lot more of a fighter than his nephew Frodo, and wasn’t as tempted by the One Ring as him as well.Either way, having Bilbo armed with his sword Sting and able to turn invisible could make for a great hit-and-run sort of character.Gandalf or Saruman would also be cool additions, but we’ll stick out for this one time burglar.
The Matrix franchise is completely resurrected at this point, and giving some spotlight to the leading lady of the movies, Trinity, would be awesome to see.
With her penchant for firearms, scorpion kicking her foes, and access to bullet time shenanigans, Trinity could control a lot like Bayonetta from the Smash Bros.games.
So here’s the thing, Warner Bros.owns the studio that produced Seinfeld, Castle Rock Entertainment. If they truly wanted, they could put in the Bee Movie creator into this game, with the man himself, Jerry Seinfeld voicing this iteration.
After binging the show on Netflix, a playable Seinfeld would totally make sense with MultiVersus’ clashing of worlds and aesthetics.
Mordecai and Rigby
If the likes of Steven Universe and Finn and Jake from Adventure Time are being featured in MultiVersus, then Cartoon Network’s other mega-hit of that time, Regular Show deserves a spot as well. The eternal slacker duo, Mordecai and Rigby, have shown time and time again how good they are brawling in each episode, so there’s a ton of reference to pull from.
The irreverent late-90s icon, watching Austin Powers today is very much a time capsule into the comedic sensibilities of that era.Nevertheless, a James Bond parody belongs in a platform fighter like MultiVersus, and could easily work as some sort of gag character like Mr.Game & Watch or something, filled to the brim with his all-powerful Mojo..
